For this case study the experiment selected a sample of 6 people. This experiment was performed in two phases, First, after allowing students to self operate the scientific toys, then separate them to proceed with performance assessment. Collecting data, qualitative and quantitative analysis are of equal weight. Quantitative data involves recording the score of the performance assessment twice. Qualitative data include observing and recording the performance assessment of the student’s performance after school, details of the interview with students, operating instruction sheet of the scientific toy, situation Issues record and other related information. After composing and analyzing the data the below result was obtained: 1. After using the self operate toys, the individual student’s problem solving ability improves. 2. The problem solving strategy usually used by individual fourth-graders students in elementary school include trial and error method and analogical strategy. 3. In some cases students will exhibit the following behavior, ask the teacher for help, find others students for assistance, give up straight away, make good use of observation, face the problem with courage and acting on instincts. According to the results of the experiment the researcher suggested a recommendation, to provide a reference for individual involved in the education field and future research. none 謝秀月 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 104 zh-TW
