Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 國語文學系國語文教學碩士班 === 97 === This thesis takes the Chapter “Taunting and Teasing” in Shi Shuo Xin Yu as the research object, and carries out humor analysis in respect of all the stories in this chapter. Humor among literati is analyzed based on the historical background at that time as an objective condition; further the form of humor is observed from aspects of linguistics and rhetoric. By the connotation of humorous dialogues, this thesis analyzes the profound meanings of social life and mentality for literati in Wei and Jin Dynasties. The literary value of research object is discussed through the form of humor and its cultural value is discussed through the connotation.The 1st Chapter probes into the conversations among literati written in Shi Shuo Xin Yu and the Chapter “Taunting and Teasing”, and tries to position humor of subjects through interpretation of humor and that of taunting and teasing. The 2nd Chapter describes the historical background of humor in Wei and Jin Dynasties which were mainly in a corrupted world. Moreover it recounts the trend of thought in the meanwhile in order to highlight how the corrupted world might mentally influence on the literati, further arousing their self-awareness, and triggered humor accordingly.The 3rd Chapter analyzes the expression of humor including sarcasm, quick-wittedness, facetiousness, warm conversation and wordplay, as well as rhetoric including assonance, allusion, metaphor, and contrast in the Chapter “Taunting and Teasing” in order to manifest its literary values.The 4th Chapter firstly analyzes the connotation of humor, comprising politicians and bigwigs taking whole interests into consideration, conflicts among factions, harmony between the emperor and courtiers, Huan Wen’s ambition as everyone knew, the South and the North belittling each other, and the severity of situation; further more to probe into the connotation of humor, including literati showing their ego, embracing all the religions, blunt criticisms among one another, and customs of literati meanwhile. Finally, this chapter describes the connotation of humor in respect of happy families in order to highlight the cultural connotation and values in Wei and Jin Dynasties.The 5th Chapter is the brief conclusion combining the connotation of this thesis together with the author’s individual viewpoints.
