Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 環境教育研究所 === 97 === Due the locality of the local environmental education, teachers have been confronted with the insufficiency of local professional competence concerning the implementation since the promotion of the Ministry of Education; therefore, some scholars have advised that community senior residents can help school conduct local education. Moreover, the recent studies relating to local teaching issues emphasize the material analysis and the present knowledge and attitude of students without discussing the process of schools employing community senior residents to conduct the local environmental education; meanwhile, there is no answer to the interaction among teachers, senior residents and students participating in the activity and the impact on teachers .
The first result shows that the developmental process is divided into six stages, which include preparation, discussion, establish consensus, finalize action plan, implement action plan, and follow-up. During the preparation stage to implement action plan stage, that is the developmental process of first year environmental local education implemented by elders in He Cuo Elementary School; as follow-up stage is the developmental process of second and third year of the continuous employing elders in the lesson. Furthermore, the second result indicates that the elders not only play the role as a transmitter of professional local ability but also manage the order in class according students situation. Besides being the translator of elders and students, teachers also need to supply teaching content and urge students on practice. Students would ask both elders and teachers questions, and respond to elders appropriately. As for the impact on teachers, the findings indicated that the teachers’ perspective toward senior residents was changed which advances teachers’ profession and makes teachers produce profound affection to community.
