Summary:碩士 === 國立臺中教育大學 === 美術學系碩士班 === 98 === In recent decades, because human civilization makes progress, information, prosperity of traffic technology and invention of new materials all change human life habits, thoughts and the notion of beauty appreciation. Under such influence, many calligraphers of Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea begin to be involved in creation of contemporary calligraphic art, have accumulated plentiful of creation results in the past sixty years and inaugurate a new road for calligraphic art. The researcher is blessed to be present in person on the grand occasion and expects to develop personal creation style under mutual excitation between exploration of traditional calligraphy and creation of contemporary calligraphic art. The research purposes include: 1 Organize the developing sequence of ideas of contemporary calligraphic art by analysis and understanding of the contemporary calligraphic art school of Asia. 2 Construct the theory basis of personal creation and establish self-creation style and prospective developing directions in exploration of the creation theory of contemporary calligraphic art of Asia and its times by practical creation. The study finds that the developing sequences of ideas of contemporary calligraphic art of Asia are separately: 1 A creation form laying emphasis on both characters and content. 2 A creation form depending mainly on characters and content is the second. 3 A creation form adopting characters as materials. The researcher begins with the last two kinds of forms to seek the traditional calligraphic theory, modern aesthetics in the west and molding aesthetics as a theory basis, develops two series of works, character parade and character expression, and explores the difference and identity of works and every school of the contemporary calligraphic circle. The study finds that contemporary calligraphic art development of Asia has two features: 1 Manifest nationalism. 2 The internalized and globalized phenomenon of contemporary aesthetics in the west. Besides, on the way to personal prospective creation, the researcher hopes to further explore more different forms of creation of contemporary calligraphic art, experiment of new materials and more deeply calligraphy and performance.
