Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣體育大學 === 體育研究所 === 97 === This study was aimed at the influences of points scored with feints in taekwondo competition. The objects of this study were the semi-quarter finalists of Men’s first four weight classes in the 2008 Presidents Cup Taekwondo Championship. The average age of players was 18.75 ± 2.00 years old, the average height was 173.50 ± 5.86 cm, and the average taekwondo experiences was 0.28 ± 2.32 years. Research methods include frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation and chi-square test. The statistical analysis was implemented by SPSS version 12.0 for Windows. Results for the analysis of points scored were the highest score of 67 points (32%) in feather weight class, and the major technique was the right rear foot Spin-whip kick. Analysis of points scored with feints was 88 points (42%), and without feints was 124 points (58%). As overall view, score without feints was higher than with feints (P < .05), but it was opposite of Bantam and Feather weight classes. The result of chi-square test of difference test on with or without feints was statistically significant (P < .05). In the analysis of feint types, the second type "the fake shift of pace" appeared 79 times (89%) was the highest. The first type "the feint of upper body and hand" appeared 5 times (6%) as the second highest. The third type of "feint of pace changing" appeared 4 times (5%) and was the lowest. Analysis of attack patterns: The differences between active attacks and passive attacks by chi-square test results, which the chi-square value was 9.618, and the P value was .002*. The outcome was statistically significant (P < .05). From the above results, this research discovered that feint attacks can improve the effectiveness of scoring in active attacks and it doesn’t reach the significance of points scored in the passive attack. The above data can be provided to national taekwondo coach training for reference. Feint attacks can be merged into the competition or training in the future in order to enhance the dominant control in the competition. The strategy can be more diversified to enhance the competitive strength of domestic taekwondo and international competitiveness.
