This study sampled 307 high school student athletes (males=156; females=129) with mean age of 16.45 years, and administered Life Adaptation Scale and Adolescent Career Development Scale. Independent t-test and ANOVA statistical analyses found there is no difference on life adaptation in terms of gender and age, however, it is found senior students’ career perception were better than junior student athletes while junior were better on career planning and social adaptation. In addition, Pearson correlation analysis also found high school student athletes life adaptation related to career development. This study concluded that coaches, PE teachers and administrators should consider high school student athletes’ life adaptation and career development so to enhance their psychological well-being in the road of pursuit sport excellence.
