This study used 20 healthy college male as subjects, walk at h/p/cosmos h/p/cosmos running machines(para graphic) to control walking speed, use Vicon 3D motion capture system(9 Vicon624 M2 high speed video camera) and the Biopac EMG system(mp150) were synchronize to collectdata, investigated characteristics of gait and muscular activation level. This study illustrates that, when walking speed lower then most comfortable walking speed, first peak of muscular activation level in semitendinosus muscular during prestance phase, peak of Acceleration phase in tibialis anterior muscular higher then peak of deceleration phase in tibialis anterior muscular. When walking speed at most comfortable walking speed, angle-angle diagram of knee and ankle joint angle look like ∞, angle-angle diagram of shoulder and knee joint angle look like an ellipse. When walking speed higher then most comfortable walking speed, first peak of muscular activation level in semitendinosus muscular during deceleration phase, peak of Acceleration phase in tibialis anterior muscular lower then peak of deceleration phase in tibialis anterior muscular. And most comfortable walking speed=leg length * 3.84-2.59, this formula can use to set walking speed on running machines. RPE of this stady was 8.95, from 8 to 11. Relationship of gait and muscular activation level at most comfortable walking speed in this stady, hope can use to set walking speed on running machines or level ground, and determine most comfortable walking speed of subjects in gait study.
