Summary: | 碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 農企業管理系所 === 97 === Under the effect of globalization, South-east Asian women became the major groups to marry Taiwanese men who are farmers and low social-economical status. They share the farming activities with their husbands and change the structure of farming population. The research takes the spouses with foreign nationality from Manjhou, Pingtung County for example to understand the problems of their doing farming by field interviews and tries to provide solutions.
Manjhou, Pingtung County is a poor tow and composed of Han nationality and Paiwan (an aborigine). Aborigine population have low social-economical status and makes money by producing and marketing vegetables, and doing odd jobs in the neighboring tourist spot, Kenting. Recently, many Manjhou’s men married to South-east Asian women and the latter often doing farming as a side job to share family livelihood besides doing household duties and taking care of their children
Most of their farming types are planting vegetables of small-scale near their home and selling vegetables by peddling or people’s introduction. In the process of their selling vegetables, they faced the problems of lacking useful producing tools and marketing approach. However, although facing the difficulties, they organize themselves to solve the problems.
The new immigrant women can suit the environment by collecting power and non-commercial ways to solve the difficulties belong to individual. To solve the problem of doing a side job of new immigrants, we have to do something by empowerment and social service.
