This research used “pretest-posttest control-group quasi-experiment research”, choosing 38 children from two classes at an elementary school in Kaohsiung County as well as dividing them into “experiment group” and “control group”. The children from the former group had to take a 40-minute experiment twice a week for ten weeks, which needs 800 minutes in total for the “picture-book group program”; however, those from the latter group didn’t have to take any experiment. The researchers use “Emotional competence scale for children” as a research tool to implement pretest, posttest and trace-test to “experiment group” and “control group”. Comparing the results before and after the treatment by means of Nonparametric statistical test of Mann-Whitney U test. Besides, the analysis of qualitative data from the feedback sheets, feedback list of group, the process record and teachers’ interviews were applied to collect other related information. The findings of this research are as follows: 1.“Picture-book group program” has great positive effects on the emotional competence of fifth and sixth graders in ECSC, “emotional expressive competence”, “emotional transformative competence” and “emotional managerial competence” in particular. 2.When it comes to “Picture-book group program” for enhancing the emotional competence of fifth and sixth graders, the program has continual and assisting effects on these children in the “emotional expressive competence” of ECSC. 3.According to the feedback sheets and the process record, the members all enjoy participating in picture-book group and they gave positive evaluations of the activity as well as the atmosphere. In addition, from the interview, “experiment group” in activity not only recognized several kinds of emotional reactions, but also enhanced their emotional competence; in this way, they are able to be euphemistic when dealing with problems, and they have improvements in the interpersonal relationship. Besides, from the process record, the reasons why picture-books catch their attention are that the contents are close to their life experience and they are concerned about them. Also, it’s helpful for them to participate in activity discussing and sharing. Finally, according to the results of the research and take the experience of researchers in the process of the research, some suggestions are made for practitioner and further research 陳慶福 學位論文 ; thesis 138 zh-TW
