Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東教育大學 === 應用化學暨生命科學系 === 97 === Abstract The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of STS on the learning of dengue fever prevention and control in 6th grade students. The study adopted a quasi-experiment design. Students of grade 6 in two classes in Kaohsiung county were enrolled for the subjects. The experiment group comprising thirty students underwent the STS pedagogy, while the contrast group comprising thirty students underwent the traditional pedagogy. Two groups separately had twelve lessons. The researcher of the study compiled a “dengue fever prevention and control” questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of knowledge, attitude and behavior of students. The questionnaire was filled out by all subjects one week before and after lessons as pretest and posttest. The data of semi-construct interview, after-lesson interview, learning sheet, homework report and self-examination report of the pathogenic source of dengue fever were colleted and analyzed. The results were as follows: 1. In terms of knowledge of dengue fever prevention and control, there was no difference between two groups before lessons. Two groups made great progress after lessons. The experiment group got a higher score than the contrast group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant. 2. In terms of attitude toward dengue fever prevention and control, there was no difference between two groups before lessons. Two groups made great progress after lessons. The experiment group got a higher score than the contrast group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant. 3. In terms of behavior toward dengue fever prevention and control, there was no difference between two groups before lessons. Two groups made great progress after lessons. The experiment group got a higher score than the contrast group. The difference between two groups was statistically significant. 4. Teachers and students had a positive evaluation of STS. Pupils also hoped STS would be applied to learning activities in the future.
