The most negative impact of tourism development is on local residents living in. Because there are a lot of sightseeing scenes and senior citizens located in the city. Tourists interfere with residents’ life invisibly.
The purpose of this study is to explore the Penghu residents’ community sense and its impact on tourism development. Samples of the area are divided into five Penghu rural counties and one city of Digital Opportunity Center for the residents. We conducted a questionnaire survey. Out of the 420 questionnaires distributed, 324 valid samples were collected, reaching to the rate of 77%. The study tool used the structural equation modeling to analyze the collected data. Research found the community sense affect tourism development, digital opportunity centers affect the community sense and tourism development.
