The research samples were mountaineers who climb the Hsiangyangshan-Sanchanshan-Jaminglake national mountain trails. The number of valid questionnaires was 352.
The results indicated that mountaineers’ environmental attitudes on mountain trails were affected by the different levels of specialization directly, also affected by the different levels of place attachment indirectly.
The findings were acquired as follows: because of the different levels of specialization and place attachment, that mountaineers’ environmental attitudes on mountain trails were affected by that. Moreover, the cognition, affection and intention of mountaineers were influenced. The higher level of cognition identified the place, but depending place didn’t. The higher level of specialization has the higher influence of depend the place. Therefore, mountaineers has positive attitude on environment.
Consequently, our findings should suggest land managers to grade mountain trails and develop various routes. It not only avoided wasting resources, but also let mountaineers whose specialization was low had opportunities in contact with mountain climbing activities easily and cultivate the interesting. For environment, mountaineers could identify the place and care recourse. In other words, controlling the entering amount of mountaineers and giving them effective environmental advises will be efficient to reduce environmental damage.
