The purpose of this study is to use Flash 8 to design an Instructional Computer Game. The purpose of this study is to realize if an Instructional Computer Game can help teachers to stimulate students’ interest and to enhance their motivation in study and therefore achieve the best learning results.
This study is based on 154 students in 7th and 8th grade in Junior High School learners study through computers. Each student is given a questionnaire as a pre-test ,which consists of their experience in using computers ,interest in learning ,and comprehension about environmental pollution ,after students study via Instructional Computer Game ,they are given a post-test .From the analysis of the in formation in the pre-test and the post-test ,it can be clarified whether the Instructional Computer Game can improve students’ interest in learning increase their learning achievement ,and develop their active learning attitude .
Research and Statistics found that (1) Instructional Computer Game can increase learning interests, no matter what students’ grade ,sex and experience in using computers are; (2) The number of correct answers in the post-test is obviously more than that in the pre-test ,and a significant relationship between 2 tests is found . The result shows that students have greatly improvement in their learning achievement with the help of the Instructional Computer Game.
