In ethnography, observation and interview were used to collect the data, and the main participants were an eighth-grade class and its eight female teachers. Besides, the collected data were analyzed through Connell’s model about four dimensions of gender so as to understand the context where the female teachers construct their authorities and the way how they wield and reinforce their authorities. To conclude, the social culture, the school culture and the school institution directly or indirectly influence the process in which the female teachers construct their authorities. In addition, the process in which the female teachers construct their authorities is dynamic, and they may exercise their authorities by their own abilities or the external assistance. There are some suggestions for teachers. They may reinforce their authorities by their teaching professional abilities, share their authorities with their students opportunely and appropriately, and take care of the girls besides the boys. There are also other suggestions for the next researchers. They may write a specific plan to the gatekeepers to get the access successfully, select a city school to be the site, invite male teachers to be the participants, study the relationship between the teachers and the girls, and consider the feature of Connell’s model in which the four structures of gender relations are constantly intermingled and interacting.
