This is no doubt a special phenomenon in design, which is different from the common trend that pursues the new and changing. Moreover, the consumers and users are starting to pursue mental function of the product, instead of the biological need; they are focusing on the self situated among the environment, humanity, and history. These nostalgia products are getting started to be love by most consumers. There has not been any theme concerning nostalgia on the chair products yet. Thus, this artwork creation aims to design chairs thematically concerning nostalgia in attempt to re-invent and re-interpret the theme of nostalgia. This creation begins with the childhood memory and toy, and it develops five kinds of chairs: Crab’s Chair (learning to walk), Armstrong’s Chair (Sci-Fi and dreams of space), Lollipop’s Chair (sweet memory), Horse’s Chair (the first toy and vehicles) and abacus’s Chair (the grocery store). Out of fondness and curiosity about the nostalgia products and trend as well as the childhood memory, the artist wishes to evoke people’s awareness on their childhood memory and innocent smiles, and thereby, by this artwork creation, forget the pressure and sorrow in the reality. The chair is thematically designed by fusing the “old” element and attempts to evoke the psychological changes of nostalgia through watching and using this artwork. Also, through a series of artworks, it aims to create a new and fresh feeling with the coexistence between new and old, and then, transforms the aura of space. This space is like one person’s return to his/her childhood memory, and will reduce one’s anxiety by viewing this product. Through the nostalgia products, this artwork creation wishes to discover any new possibility for the theme of nostalgia on the creative products. Keywords: nostalgia, chair、memory
