Description
Summary:碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 環境教育研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences of university students in knowledge of global warming and environmental-friendly behavior in Kaohsiung and Hualien area. Total of 560 students were survey originally and yielded 470 valid questionnaires, an 84% rate. SPSS 12.0 software was used to conduct Chi-squire test, one sample t- test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation. Results showed that more than 99.1% and 98.9% of students have heard the term “global warming” and “greenhouse effects”, respectively. However, only 88.9% of students heard “Kyoto Protocol”. In addition, students whose background in environmental-related major has a higher rate than those students with non- environmental-related major. 67.4% of students failed to identify that Taiwan was not part of Kyoto Protocol. 77.7% of students have the perception that Kyoto Protocol is a “book”. Based our results, the main reason for university students to exercise environmental-friendly behavior is “convenience”. Students with environmental-related major also show better environmental knowledge and more positive environmental behavior. The environmental knowledge correlates with the positive environmental behavior.
