Abstract
The main objective of this study was to investigate students’ satisfaction level of sports teaching areas in senior and vocational high schools in Pingtung county. Gender, grade, school size, school type were picked as background variables. Sports teaching areas comprehend indoor grounds, outdoor fields, teaching areas on rainy days, and ancillary facilities.
The students, from grade 1 to 3, in senior and vocational high schools in Pintung county were picked as subjects of this survey. The questionnaire named ”The Study of the Students’ Satisfaction Level of Sports Teaching Areas in Senior and Vocational High Schools in Pingtung County” was taken as the research tool 1,140 questionnaires were sent out and 1,030 responses were valid for this study,in a rate of 90.35%. The collected data were analyzed by means of average, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Scheffe. The main findings of this research were presented as follows:
1. The score of the students’ satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas averages 2.78, which indicates the fact that they are not satisfied. The satisfaction levels range from high to low:indoor grounds(2.90),outdoor fields(2.89), ancillary facilities(2.66),teaching areas on rainy days(2.66).
2. The students are the most unsatisfied with the following 5 items:the number of the teaching areas on rainy days(2.51),the drainage effects in outdoor fields(2.54),the kinds of ancillary facilities such as lights, fitting rooms, leisure centers and toilets(2.56)、the cleanness of ancillary facilities such as lights, fitting rooms, leisure centers and toilets (2.56),and the size of the teaching areas on rainy days (2.57).
3. The students are the most satisfied with the following 5 items:the height of the outdoor fields(3.26),the kinds of the outdoor fields(3.14),the height of the indoor grounds(3.04)、the texture of the indoor grounds (3.04),and the outdoor fields(3.02).
4. Students of different genders appear no remarkable difference in satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas.
5. The students in different grades have distinct different satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas. The grade 3 students have higher satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas than grade 2 students do.
6. The students of the school with 21~40 classes have higher satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas than those of the schools with over 41 classes or those of the schools with below 20 classes.
7. The students of different type of schools have distinct different satisfaction levels of sport teaching areas. Generally, the students of national senior / vocational high schools have higher satisfaction levels;those of county high schools and private senior / vocational high schools have lower ones.
