However, the researches regarding baseball players’ training of the related fitness was scarce. Purposes: This study aimed to examine the differences of related fitness among male baseball players from the junior high school in Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung City. Different groups (softball and hardball), technical levels, defense positions were taken into consideration. Furthermore, the correlation between players’ performances of related fitness and the prediction of future development were also investigated. Methods: there were total 180 male students from six junior high schools in Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung City who participated in the study. All the students who were divided into the hardball group and the softball group were requested to take related fitness test, consisting of fourteen events. Results: The major findings of the study are summarized as follows: 1. Regarding the technical level, the players in superior group was significantly better than those in inferior group and average group. 2. Concerning the defense positions, the significant differences were shown in body heights, body weights, body fats %, and vertical jumps. There were no significant differences in the rest tests. 3.Regarding the hardball and softball groups, the players in the hardball group had significantly better scores than those in the softball group in body heights, body weights, vertical jumps, 30-and-60 yard sprints, T tests, 5RM squats, 5RM bench presses, 5kg weight abdominal tests, and Grip tests. Conclusions: The results of the study revealed that there were positively differences in related fitness of baseball players in the junior high school when the technical level was taken into consideration. Moreover, players in the hardball group performed better related fitness than those in the softball group. In terms of the defense position, there was no significant difference in many tests. It’s possible that the players haven’t played in a fixed defense position during the junior high school phase. Last, it hopes that the results of the study will help to construct a model of related fitness for junior high school baseball players in Taiwan. In addition, it also helps coaches gain insights into what positions are best for their baseball players in the future. Jin-Hsien Tsai 蔡俊賢 學位論文 ; thesis 129 zh-TW
