The researcher recruited 164 counselors and gave them questionnaire survey packages, including personal demography, Burnout Scale, and Chinese Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale. The researcher applied descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, canonical correlation, multiple stepwise regression analysis, and path analysis to analyze data of the study. The results show that counselors have low degree perfectionism and middle degree burnout. There is no significant difference between male and female counselors in perfectionism and burnout. Counselors below 30 years old, compared with above 30 years old, have higher level in burnout. Counselors below 3 years service, compared with above 3 years, show higher burnout in “work investment.” Full-time, compared to part-time, counselors have higher level in burnout. The results show that there is a positive relationship between perfectionism and burnout in counselors. Besides, counselors with self-oriented perfectionism, compared to other two types of perfectionism, show higher level of burnout. Socially prescribed perfectionism is the best predictor to burnout. Based on the results of the research, suggestions and recommendations are addressed for future studies. Yuan-yu, Ting 丁原郁 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 91 zh-TW
