碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 輔導與諮商研究所 === 97 === The main purpose of this study was to explore the spiritual state of the people who has lost a spouse due to cancer﹐the process transformed from bereavement to positive spiritual experience﹐and provide suggestions for counseling in the spiritual dimensions. The study was based on hermeneutic phenomenology method. Thematic analysis provided the basis of analysis strategies and steps. The participants﹐recommended by friends and religious groups﹐consisted of two interviewers who had lost their spouses due to cancer for more than one year . Their state of mind was stable and their scores on the global assessment of functioning were normal. According to the results﹐the positive spiritual experience of the people who has lost a spouse due to cancer in their mourning process included five common themes: 1. The spiritual throb of the spirituality. 2. The call of the spirituality. 3. The transformation of the spirituality. 4. The spiritual belief from the sacred experience. 5. The assistance for the mind and spirit. The dimensions of this study were as the following: 1. The characteristics of spiritual strength. 2. The transformation process for the spirituality of the people who has lost a spouse due to cancer. 3. The requirement of the spiritual interventions for the people who has lost a spouse due to cancer. Recommendations for the future research and grief counseling were addressed.
