碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 教育研究所 === 97 === Abstract Adult psychotic patients have been intentionally edged out and ignored by the society for a long time. In addition, the media painstakingly sensationalize about the psychotic patients’ “criminal behaviors”. The psychotic patients are usually regarded as “insane nuts”. Their real intentions are neglected and few people wants to understand their inner world and needs. As the same disables, the adult psychotic patients haven’t been treated equally like the other disabled people. People think that the patients who are mentally ill should be “locked up” and “isolated from the society.” Such attitude maybe make no opportunities and motivating power for the psychotic patients to restore and our society maybe doesn’t think that the psychotic patients have the ability to restore. The target case is the close relative of the researcher. The researcher probes this case into the case of the meaning and attitude of life before and after contracting the mental illness, furthermore under the support of the other people around, the researched patient positively restore of himself. We are looking forward to seeing the people change the inflexible impression on the adult psychotic patients’ “without the ability of restoration.” Hopefully we can get along well with the adult psychotic patients around us with supportive and friendly attitudes. The research adopts the method of “case study”, by employing qualitative technigues of document analysis and interviews to collect and analyze the data which the research needs. The period of data collected includes the researched patient’s diary, guidance records, medical records and the researcher’s diary. Except the guidance records and medical records are subordinated resource information, the rest are primary resource information. The data collected is from September 1991 to December 2006. During this period of time, it’s the major hours for the researched patient to fall ill and to restore positively and it matches the purpose and the questions of this research. The results of the research show that commonly the adult psychotic patients’ personalities are introvert and they lack of the ability to set up interpersonal relationship actively. If they can get the people around to support them, they still have the ability, mativating power and the opportunity to restore. Therefore they will not be the “burden” of the society if the people support them and accept them openly. On the contrary, they can devote themselves to the society like the other people. Hopefully we can provide another angle to care and treat the adult psychotic patients through the results of the research and then we can provide the direction of consideration when the government establishes the educational policy and related laws.
