Through finding out “what happened”, ”what changed” on the land, and their historical context , we can even interpret the meanings hide behind the cultural landscape. Feng-Tien Community was a village planned by Japanese government, the scheme of Feng-Tien immigrant village and temple revealed the spirit of Japan that learned both Western modernism and Chinese feng shui. After the Japanese colonial period, Taiwanese who moved here were not used to living in Japanese-style house, therefore they might change or to get used to the space. It is battlefield for ideology. Until 60’s, because of jade and watermelon, residents in Feng-Tien Community were well-to-do, and enabled to repair old house, or even purchase a new one. Cultural landscapes are the result of space production. So landscape transition are the result of process of space production and reproduction. At last, the study attempt to use Lefebvre’s Trialectics to decode process of space production and reproduction in Feng-Tien Community.
