Summary: | 碩士 === 高雄師範大學 === 人力與知識管理研究所 === 97 === The main purpose of the establishment of library in senior high school is to serve staffs and students, to match the objective of school education, to realize the school’s plan of education, to support teacher’s teaching activities and student’s learning process, and to provide the learning resources. In brief, library is one of the most desired parts in the whole school teaching. This study investigates the satisfaction and the utility rate of library for Kaohsiung senior high school’s students. To show the divergence and bring up the conclusion based on the survey, several factors are considered, such as grade, gender and the rate of using library. I hope this study can provide the readers a way to plan senior high school library and serving users. The data analysis used statistic software, SPSS 12.0, and the approach included descriptive statistics, chi-square test, t test and one way ANOVA.
According to this study, some conclusions are given as follows. First, the intention for senior high school’s students to use library is to read newspapers and magazines. And the most used data is books. Besides, students think that books classification ought to be faultless and the bookshelf ought to be arranged regularly; second, most students have low frequency for using library, short time for staying and low rate of borrowing books; third, students are unwilling to hold a study group. It commonly regards library should reinforce in coordination with teaching; fourth, students tend to collect information on the internet. They would search help from library staffs if they meet difficulties; fifth, girls are more likely to use library than boys. In status, second-grade students are more likely to use library than other grades. However, there is no significant difference between gender and grades; sixth, students do not satisfy the attitude of staffs, short time for opening, insufficient time for educating, purchasing books without inquiring and not enough copy machines and so on; seventh, there is a significant influence for satisfaction in using frequency, the amount of borrowing books and the times of searching data; eighth, there is a significant difference in using library and satisfaction of teaching; ninth, to sum up, students are satisfy in using school library, but there is room for improvement.
According to this study and student’s opinions, the following are suggestion from the result: first, enhance the learning function of school library and carry out the education of using library; second, elevate library’s information serving function, strengthen information software and hardware equipment; third, arrange specific money to enrich book collection. Besides, inquire student’s opinions about choosing books; fourth, lengthen the opening time for library and encourage students to use resources; fifth, enhance searching function of library and increase staff’s professional; sixth, arrange specific budgets and build a systematic managing rules; seventh, enlarge the member of staffs and implement teaching supports; eighth, propose upper education unit provide subsidy and renew library equipments and facilities.
