Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 營建工程所 === 97 === Taiwan is on the link of Pacific Ocean earthquake belt, therefore, occurrence of the earthquake is very common. One of the most severe earthquake disasters to the ground is namely soil liquefaction. When the soils reach liquefaction stage, the ground materials will lose their bearing capacity, and the whole domain will act likely the liquid flowing. The dynamic behavior of foundation located at high liquefaction potential ground is certainly very essential. However, in the current foundation design, there are lack of sound considerations such as taking account of interaction between foundation and ground, which often leads to over-design. In this paper, the author conducted a series of numerical analysis on understanding dynamic behavior of foundation and ground in many different cases. Which include different magnitude and frequency of seismic wave, different liquefaction strength of ground soils, different Young’s Modulus of foundation, and different type of ground improvement. The findings present the applicability of ground improvement in each case and also demonstrate the difficulty to design a structure on not liquefiable ground, in the other words, to control the possible liquefaction induced damage to a structure is more reasonable in engineering design.
