Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 應用日語所 === 97 === As the author of this thesis, I find in the field of teaching that some mistakes and misinterpretations frequently occur concerning the first- and second-person pronouns among the Japanese learners. As a Japanese teacher, there are times when I am not certain how to give appropriate instructions. Therefore, this thesis points out the differences of the pronoun usage between Chinese and Japanese and provides some methods of teaching after the factors to such mistakes are found out.
This thesis comes in 6 chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the research motivations, purposes, objects, scope and methods and presents the relevant analyses from antecedent researches. Chapter 2 presents and compares the differences of the pronoun usage between Chinese and Japanese. It is found that, compared with Chinese where the use of personal pronouns is relatively without restriction and the subjects will be rather difficult to identify if the personal pronouns are not made clear, the facts that the use of personal pronouns in Japanese is restricted and difficult to learn and that the subjects can be identified through verb forms and auxiliary words make it common for a personal pronoun to be omitted. Chapter 3 is centered on the analysis of the mistakes and misinterpretations in the actual sentences and speeches by students. The factors to such mistakes include mother tongue interference, incomplete understanding the pronoun usage in Japanese, the differences concerning the first- and second-pronoun usage between these two languages. Chapter 4 is centered on the strategies to prevent the mistakes and proposes some methods of teaching from the perspective of a teacher. Chapter 5 lists the research results and discusses the issue of Japanese teaching in the future.
It is hoped that this thesis can be taken as reference for teachers who may want to know how to give instructions in the face of first- and second-person pronoun usage in Japanese.
