| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 漁業生產與管理研究所 === 97 === The sustainable fisheries development indicator system was established according to the background of Taiwan’s offshore and coastal fisheries and foreign experiences to monitor fisheries management in this study. The result shows the ecological index is towards sustainability, but for conserving the fishery resource it is necessary to strength the habitat protection and management through partnership approach. The economic index is towards unsustainability due to decline of fisheries GDP, production, value, economic production and investment. Furthermore, decline of fisheries ageing, social performance and flexibility contribute to unsustainability of social index. In terms of institutional index, it is sustainable because of improvement of management efficiency and management ability and capacity building. However, there are some problems existed in aspects of compliance and acceptability of expense. Finally, the indicator system also shows that the potential problems in the aspects of unreasonable increase of employee, incorrect statistic data and acceptability of expense will make Taiwan’s offshore and coastal fisheries unsustainable.
