碩士 === 國立高雄海洋科技大學 === 漁業生產與管理研究所 === 97 === Abstract In recent years, the government has formulated policies to promote the transformation of traditional fishery into a diverse leisure industry, including water leisure activities, which have become one of the most important choices for domestic people. As an island county at sea, Penghu County is abundant with sea elements, more than half of the island’s residents live on fishery. The county has an excellent environment for developing recreational fishery as the sea is its most important natural resource. This study, which takes Yuan-Bei Recreational Fishing Ground of Penghu County as its investigation object area, aims to explore tourists’ characteristics, considerations before departure, motivations, and recreational experience, so as to find out their acknowledgement of recreational fishery, their participation motivations, and their satisfaction levels. Tourists in the recreational fishing ground were sampled to carry out the study. A total of 163 valid questionnaires were recovered. Data collected were analyzed with the statistics software SPSS10.07 and statistic methods such as Independent Samples t Test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, Confidence Analysis, Descriptive Statistics, and One-way ANOVA . Suggestions for the reference of future development of recreational fishery were proposed after discussions on the results of statistics analyses. The study results reveal that the diversification of tourists’ characteristics will have an impact on the motivations, experiences, and satisfaction levels of the tourists. In summary, to recreational fishery business operators, important issues are the planning of itinerary at sea, the overall considerations of travel safety and comfort, and the space configuration of off-shore travels.
