Many studies have been conducted to focus on how to obtain the biodiesel and its raw material. However, the study of the storage condition of the biodiesel is also important. In this study, a commercial biodiesel (C01) and a laboratory-produce biodiesel (SFM) were used to verify the effect of storage temperature, type of storage container, storage time as well as the moisture content on the properties of the biodiesels. The major properties analyzed in this study include acid value, iodine value, kinematic viscosity, density, heating value and flash point. C01 and SFM were also stored in PP(polypropylene) tanks and runs as fuel in diesel engine at various period of storage time to analyze the CO、CO2、NOx、SO2 and particulate matter from the exhaust gases. The results showed that the SFM stored in the ST(stainless steel) cups gave a higher degradation than stored in the PP bottle. Also, the results show the oxygen performed the oxidation and do affect the degradation of the biodiesel with the temperature acceleration. In this study, the moisture of biodiesel has no obviously impact yet. The CO2 and SO2 concentration rose with the engine speed increases. The NOx concentration increased with increased engine speed but also increased as storage time increased. The CO2 concentration of SFM is higher but stable, and CO and NOx concentration are higher than C01. Yo-ping Greg Wu 吳友平 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 104 zh-TW
