As a Chinese poet in Touliu City, Yun-lin County, Chang had been lived through the Japanese Colonial Period and National Government Period during his life. Change did not start his career of writing Chinese poetries until his mid-age and had created nearly 1,000 poetries, songs and verses. He studied under Shao-mo Huang, a gifted scholar at an early age, and in Japan from the age of 19 to 27. He ended his studies and returned to Taiwan to run his family business—Pinfangtang Western and Chinese Drug Store at the age of 27 after his father, Huai Chang, passed away. He spent the rest of his life in Tou-liu until his death.                      This paper focuses on Li-ching Chang and his Chinese Poetries, particularly the content of his Chinese Poetries, creation techniques and artistic features. With the currently available data, this paper is divided into 6 sections. The introduction explains research motivations and purposes, research methods and research range, the sources of the collected data as well as the process of the entire paper. The first section gives a description of the poet’s background information, family, life and friendship. The second section classifies the integration of Chang’s works, analyzes the materials applied in the poetries and the content and meaning of the works as well as the artistic features of Chang’s works and creation techniques based on the its references from “The Poetries of Li-ching Chang”. The third section discusses the background of Chang’s transformation into a Chinese poetry creator and Chang’s decision of taking the road as a Chinese poet during the period which the status of Chinese Poetries had declined.
