First, re-established the Sport Commitment Scales for the Advanced-level college volleyball players with well reliability and validity, this measurement instrument could be used to measure the top eight players (84 males and 88 females total 172 players)as subjects in this study. Descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s and multiple regression were computed for data analysis. The results indicated that: (a) the current situation of the Advanced-level college volleyball players’ sport commitment and six determinants: the all players got the medium high average with the want-to commitment was 3.45 and have-to commitment was 3.12. The ratings of the 6 determinants were as follows, the highest, personal investment (3.81), sport enjoyment (3.68), social support (3.64), involvement opportunities (3.56), involvement alternative (3.25), and the lowest, social constraints (3.20). (b) the differences of sport commitment and determinants between the selected demographic and background variables: 1). There was not gender differences on sport commitment, but there were significant differences on involvement alternative, social constraints, personal investment, not on sport enjoyment, involvement opportunities, social support. 2). There were significant differences of period of joining volleyball team on the want-to commitment, sport enjoyment, personal investment, involvement opportunities, social support, but not on the have-to commitment, involvement opportunities, social constraints. 3). There were neither matriculation way nor highest competition level differences on sport commitment and six determinants. 4). There was not goes on stage the order differences on sport commitment, but there were significant differences on sport enjoyment, personal investment, involvement opportunities. (c) the situation in terms of the prediction of sport commitment: 1). the correlations between the five terms of sport enjoyment, personal investment, social constraints, involvement opportunities, social support and want-to commitment were significantly positive, but only involvement alternative had no correlation with want-to commitment; on the other hand, the correlations between the six determinants and have-to commitment were significantly positive. 2). four determinants (sport enjoyment, personal investment, involvement opportunities, social support) could significantly predict want-to commitment, at the same time, have-to commitment was significantly predicted only by sport enjoyment and social constraint. Finally, based on the conclusions of this study, suggestions were offered for relative applications and future research. 林如瀚 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW |
