Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 人資處語文教學碩士班 === 97 === Abstract The issues of this research focus on how to improve students’ composition ability and elevate teachers’ enthusiasm for composition instruction. Researchers attempt to explore the possibility about instruction of composition through pictures applied for fourth grade students in elementary school by providing relating materials and guiding skills. The main purpose of instruction is intended for assisting both instruction and learning. After three-month teaching process, the outcomes of the research are as follows: 1、Composition through pictures contributes to students’ observations and describing skills. 2、The alternative usages of pictures provide different effects. 3、Teaching plan leads the way how to teach and adjust teaching methods from students’ feedbacks. 4、Action research can examine teaching procedure and learning condition and establish interactions with collegues. key words: composition through pictures action research extended writing
