Summary: | 碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 區域人文社會學系碩士班 === 97 === I used questionnaires survey to understand the process of selecting textbooks of social
studies and the satisfaction of using textbooks in Hsinchu City, and to explore the correlation
between the two in this study. Actual reclaim of samples in the members of textbook-selecting
committee are 223 and 383 teachers of social studies. According to testing results,
descriptive statistics, T-test, one-way ANOVA and Regression Model, there are some
conclusions as follows:
I. During the textbook-selecting process:
1. All primary schools in Hsinchu city all set up a textbook-selecting committee and discuss
in public. Staff of textbook-selecting committee includes parents, administration
representatives and teachers, some schools consult the experts and scholars, but
representatives of parents and experts and scholars participate in a lower proportion.
2. During the textbook-selecting process, there is low level of implementation in "developing
the standards of social studies textbooks and revising timely". And there are not enough
relevant teachers’ training whether before or after textbook-selecting.
II. The textbook-selecting consideration factors:
Considerations at different levels, the textbook-selecting committee attach the most
importance to "teaching material organization", follow by "instructional design process" level,
"other auxiliary" level, and "the publication of the relevant property" level.
III. Satisfaction of using textbooks:
1. In different levels of textbook-using satisfaction, teachers are the most satisfied with
"other auxiliary" level, followed by "publishing-related properties" level, "teaching
material organization" level, and the "instructional design process" level.
2. Different mode of textbooks-selecting makes no significant impact on satisfaction of
using textbooks.
3. The textbook-selecting consideration factors have a significant impact on satisfaction,
with the following factors are considered, the satisfaction of using textbooks are higher:
A. In "publishing-related properties" level: "The goodwill and business scale of publishers"
and " The textbook editors covered by scholars and experts or not ".
B. In "teaching material organization" level: "The contents of textbooks have expansion of
the continuity or not" and " The adequacy of the contents for students’ demand"
C. In "instructional design process" level: "Teaching material is able to reach nine-year
targets," "It’s convenient to get teaching materials", " Activities-designing stimulates
students’ interest in learning" and "Motivating students to solve the problem, create
further thinking”.
D. In "other auxiliary" level: "Textbook publishers provide advisory services” and “There are
appropriate channels available to reflect the issue”.
