It is a good issue to analyze the performance of communication systems over the different channels. The Stanford university interim (SUI) channel model proposed by IEEE 802.16 specification is suitably used for the channel model of IEEE 802.16 system. The SUI channel model is made of some channel effects, such as shadow fading and path loss. The previous research analyzes the coverage probability of IEEE 802.16 system over SUI channels. In this thesis, WirelessMAN-OFDM PHY in IEEE 802.16e-2005 standards is used as our simulation platform. A novel analysis model of coverage probability with Rayleigh Fading is proposed. The coverage probability of the system with Rayleigh Fading is compared with that without Rayleigh Fading. The simulation results show that coverage probability with Rayleigh Fading is much less than that without Rayleigh Fading.
