Summary: | 碩士 === 國立東華大學 === 教育研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among students’ achievement and their background, teachers’ and school’s factors by using decision tree approach. How these factors influence students’ achievement is the most important issue in educational society. Most scholars use statistic method to calculate the weight of how these factors influence on students’ achievement. However, by using top-down approach will narrow down the possibility of influence. Therefore, this study used data mining to investigate how does students achievement were influenced by students’, family’s, teachers’ and school’s factors.
The finding of this study is as follows:
By using decision tree approach to investigate the relationship among the 17 factors including students’, family’s, teachers’ and school’s and students’ achievement, the most important factor is the quantity of reference books in students’ home. The educational expectations of students themselves were the second important factor. Follows were students’ additional studies and the ratio of students and teachers in schools. Similar to the studies in the past, students’ and family’s factors are the most important factors to the students’ achievement.
