Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育與諮商研究所 === 97 === This study aims to explore why the parents who chose a homeschooling finally decided to back to traditional classroom setting and the school adaption of their children in elementary school. A quantitative approach which includes the methods of observation, deep interview and documentation is applied to a case family with two homeschooling children. The results show that: 1. The reasons for parents to return to traditional classroom setting include the exhaustion of teaching, self-examination of education style, agreement from children, examination types from school, and suggestions from relatives, friends and consultants of homeschooling. 2. The school adaption of these two children is a continuous process. In the beginning, they are some disoriented. Gradually, they progress in three aspects of learning adaption, personal relationship and psychological adaption. 3. The factors for the school adaption are child’s characteristics, school institution, leadership of school teachers and the mother’s parenting style. According to the results, we proposed some suggestions to education institutes, school teachers and parents. A discussion for further research is included as well.
