Summary: | 碩士 === 國立嘉義大學 === 家庭教育與諮商研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between children’s self-disclosure and perceptions of mother-child intimacy. A self-reported questionnaire is used and a total of 518 valid samples are retrieved from the 5th and 6th grade students in nine public elementary schools in Changhua. The data is analyzed through SPSS software, and interpreted by means of descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The findings are as followed.
1.Students are more willing to be self-disclosed to mothers on the general topics.
2.Students’ perception of mother-child intimacy is above average level, and girls’ perception of mother-child intimacy is higher than boys’.
3.Students’ level of self-disclosure and mother-child intimacy are raised if the time spent between mothers and children is above two hours everyday.
4.Students whose mothers can disclose themselves and perceive mother-child intimacy have higher level of self-disclosure and mother-child intimacy.
5.Students’ self-disclosure and mother-child intimacy will be enhanced if mothers take positive approach when raising their children.
6.The followed factors can predict mother-child intimacy by 64.5%:Students’ self-disclosure on the general topics, whether mothers can perceive mother-child intimacy, students’ self-disclosure on the emotion topics, whether mothers can self-disclose, students’ self-disclosure on the private topics, girls, the time spent between mothers and children above two hours everyday, and the positive approaches mothers take when raising their children.
According to the results of the research, some suggestions can be proposed to parents and family education personnel and later researchers.
