An excellent project manager should possess high-level of management capabilities supported by extensive professional expertise, however, his distinct personality traits and personal behavior will also influence his team members. Results of past researches confirm that professional project managers are able to motivate those working with him in devoting themselves to the projects at hand, and consequently reinforcing the teams structure. Through the study of software development project managers, this research aims to examine if personality traits will affect their work performance and which personality traits have bigger impacts. This study shows that personality traits of project managers have significant effects on software developers’ job performance, self-efficacy, and their job pressure.
