The stationery industries are facing the challenges and difficulties they never have before. Especially in China and other Asian countries, factories released lower prices in order to receive more orders. In the economic environment which changes so fast, the enterprises could only remain in the lead of technique to achieve sustainable development. This study mainly focuses on how conventional stationery industries made use of product development to improve their profits. Then work with this successful case to figure out its successful factors and to prove the benefits after the company with product innovation. We also discussed about the bottleneck and the solution in process of the product innovation. This could be the reference to the other companies. S company, the main case to study, is a conventional stationery manufacturing company; it was established in the year of 1953. Mainly produces stationery such as staplers, cutters, pencil sharpeners and correction tapes. It was an OEM manufacturer in the production and sale. In order to lower the prime cost, the company invested capital into China to set up factories in 1998. But still got no advantage in prices with local competitors, which caused the increasingly loss of OEM orders. So the top administrators of the company decided to put efforts on innovation and R&D. Made use of product innovation to improve the profits of the company, and dedicated to the transformation from OEM to ODM manufacturer to keep strength in competition to continuously increase the Sales. This study mainly discussed the process and results of how this company improves their profits with product development and transformed from OEM to ODM manufacturer, and then raised its OBM Sales. Conclusion drawn from our research includes the following: 1.Product innovation could improve profits of enterprises. 2.Product innovation could help enterprises increase the sale rate of new product, and upgrade the strength of competition. 3.Product innovation could help enterprises increase the sale rate of Own Branding, which is helpful to achieve sustainable development. 4.Reformation of research department was necessary to enterprises transform from ODM into OBM.
