Summary: | 碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 復健諮商研究所 === 97 === The purpose of the research was to study the vocational evaluation process for individuals with disabilities provided by a vocational evaluator with a background in social work. In addition to observations of the vocational evaluation process for four individuals with disabilities, total nine interviews with the evaluator during evaluation were taken. These data were analyzed based on a grounded theory approach.
The major findings of the study indicated that the vocational evaluator might use multiple assessment strategies with an inductive logic to access the information of the individuals with disabilities. Based on the information obtained, several hypotheses about the individuals were then generated by using a deductive logic method. The evaluator would further confirm these hypotheses by collecting findings from standardized instruments and ecological assessment. The study findings also suggested the vocational evaluator might have developed his own personal ways in doing his vocational evaluation services. The implications for practice and future research are discussed.
