Consignment means suppliers manage the stock, and in the electronic industry, it is treated as one main trading mode to execute VMI and get rid of bullwhip effect effectively. However, the successful operation of Consignment trade is based on some conditions, the contest of the strength between the buyers and suppliers will test the partnership between both of parties. Take an example of the semiconductor lead-frame supplier-S company to discuss and try to find out the key factor for proceeding a successful operation of Consignment, the five chosen representative suppliers whose production outputs reaches 90% shares of global qualified production outputs would be treated as the object of study as well to be interviewed and analyze deeply. After the discussion and analysis, the successful Consignment has those key factors listed below: 1.Both parties (including buyer and vendor) are willing to benefit each other under the trade mode of consignment. 2.The operation should be based on the selective items, the selective items should include the properties of the lasting demand, big sales volume and high turnover rate. 3.The prompt communication and sharing the reliable information of the forecast. 4.Monitoring the status of actual demand all the time. 5.Both parties must have the sound financial structure. 6.The rule to reduce the risk, the pricing of copper needs to be specified on the sales contracts. 7.The period which is from materials handed in warehouse to materials taken out needs be defined, buyer has the liability to transfer those materials to buyer's stock and enter into buyer's account in the agreed deadline, and pay the payment for goods according to the contracts. 8.Both parties set up the relative regulations of the Consignment and sign the agreement based on fairness and feasibility.
