Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 特殊教育學系所 === 97 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the status quo and needs of family support services of care givers who had children with disabilities studying in special education classes of junior high schools in Tainan, and then analyzed the variances among different backgrounds. The results of this study may provide reference for the operation of family support service in the future. The research instrument was the self-designed questionnaire “The Questionnaire of Junior High School Students’ Status Quo and Needs of Family Support Services”, which contains five dimensions as follows: “information support”, “professional support”, “economic support”, “career planning support” and “self-protection support”. The questionnaire data were analyzed by frequency distribution, percentage, t-test, one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA. The recovery rate was 88.5%, and the valid rate was 88.6%. The major findings were as the following: 1.Status quo: (1)The support which care givers receive the most was “information support” which was followed by “self-protection support”, “professional support”, ”career planning support”, “economic support” according to availability. (2)The support availability varied with different family ranking, care givers’ roles and residential areas. The youngest children received more than the first born children in information support, career planning support and self-protection support. Other care givers received more than care givers who are fathers and mothers in professional support and economic support. Other care givers received more than care givers who are mothers in career planning support. Care givers who lived in rural area received more than those who lived in urban area in professional support and career planning support. 2.Need levels: (1)The most needed support was “information support”, which was followed by “career planning support”, “professional support”, “self-protection support” and “economic support” according to the student’ needs. (2)The need levels varied with different disability levels and family monthly income. Children with moderate disabilities needed more support than those with severe and extreme disabilities in career planning support. Family monthly income with 15000 NT dollars below needed more than those with 45001 NT dollars above in professional support. Besides, family monthly income with 15000 NT dollars below needed more than those with 15001~30000 NT dollars, 30001~45000 NT dollars and 45001 NT dollars above in economic support. 3.The difference between the status quo and the needs: (1)According to the whole part: Apparent variations were displayed in whole questionnaire and dimensions, and the needs were higher than the status quo. (2)According to different backgrounds: Different roles of care givers had obvious variations between the status quo and the needs. Different care givers required different family support services. Other care givers received more supports than the care givers who are mothers. All care givers required more than what they received now. 4.The open questions: What the care givers cared about in open questions were: occupational skills, job information, parental education, consultation services, educational information, social skill training, career planning and so on.
