碩士 === 國立交通大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 97 === Bag has become part of our everyday life. Instead of showing personal style or an accessory of dress, bag is a private space for carrying personal stuff. For some user it is more like a “portable home”. They keep us contact with our daily life. We use them every single day. Though the creation of bag has been centuries, we still find problems while using them. Therefore how to improve such well-developed product became my issue. The concepts of this project come from observation, interview and self-experience of using bag. The character and usage of bag are analyzed during the process of finding direction of concept development. The specification, which contains form, size, material, structure, and manufacture process of each concept model is arranged and revised for applicable result. Inspired by the process of design and form of project, the main theme of this project is “DNA”. This project shows the continued evolution as well as DNA of bag. Various faces of bag have been revealed through adjustable usage and structure. The appearance, interior and elements of bag reflect the changing interaction between user and bag. As the outcome of this project, five concepts were selected and made into nine prototypes.
