Many universities have begun to import course management system such as Moodle system and hope to expand opportunities for interactive learning. This study chooses to Moodle system as the main object of study and discusses the design of interactive learning from interactive learning tools, interactive learning types and interactive learning behaviors of Moodle system. Then, analyze the actual situation of applying Moodle system to interactive learning in case university. Last, discuss the difficulties and resolution strategies of applying Moodle system to interactive learning in university. This study takes literature analysis, content analysis and interviews as the research methods.
This study found that Moodle system integrates a number of interactive tools and provides many possibilities for interactive learning. However, online resources, work uploads and discussion forum were main use of Moodle system in university and less use of other interactive tools. The main interactive learning behavior of student-student interaction and student-teacher interaction was “information exchange” but fewer high-level interactive learning behaviors. The factors of difficulty of applying Moodle system to interactive learning in university were the external environment, interactive tools, teachers, students and promotion. Last, the research based on these factors provided the resolution strategies and hoped to provide the suggestion of applying Moodle system for future universities.
