This test used three soil materials (sand of Taichung port, gravel, and laterite) , PET geogrids of two different strength and one geotestile. Two different series of loads, static and dynamic (cyclic) was applied to proceed a series of reinforced soil tests. During the test, the local strain of geogrid which was measured by strain gauges was compared with the overall strain of the geogrid. The behaviors of reinforced soil under different testing conditions were also compared. The test results indicated that the static loading and dynamic loading condition, type of geosynthetic reinforcement, depth of reinforcement installation have influence on the behavior of reinforced soil.
