Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 教育研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to discuss the self-raising experience in unmarried females when entering and ending extramarital relationships. The researcher of this study conducted semi-structured, in-depth interviews with three unmarried females involved in extramarital affairs and acquired nine texts. However, one of the participants became emotionally uncomfortable with the topic during the interview, and the interview was thus terminated. The other six texts from the other two participants were thus adopted as the material for analysis in this study. The findings in this study suggest that there are five reasons behind unmarried females' self-raising extramarital affairs: (1) the male seemed like "Mr. Right," (2) close interactions, (3) sense of adventure, (4) psychological satisfaction, and (5) the male taking the initiative. In-depth interviews with the participants regarding their values towards marriage and love indicate these two individuals' past experience also influenced their attitude towards being involved in extramarital affairs, including: (1) negative experiences with seeing unmarried males, and (2) self-contradicting feelings towards the marital system. Although extramarital affairs yield short-lived joy, the participants were all aware the relationship was going nowhere. When having to leave the married men, their self-raising experiences were as follow: (1) Key factor: Being aware that this is an incomplete love, and having experienced the shame after the relationship was exposed. (2) Awareness: Seeing the truth of the supposed "real love," a strong will to survive, and being aware of the importance of themselves. (3) Obstacles: Past, sweet memories, and being in the same workplace with that person. (4) Action: Keeping a distance with that person, seeking emotional outlets, distraction, and changing one's cognition. The subjects in this study were all around the age of 30 and willingly entered extramarital affairs. It is thus recommended that future studies can look at females of different age groups or being involved in such relationships due to deception.
