Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩博士班 === 97 === At such a place: latitudes 44±4°, the regional climate brings the cold and dry, which often reduce the life of urban space. Even where the building form is similar to other places at different kind of climate, there still a problem that vitality of the city disappears. For this issue, this thesis starts to discuss the relationship between urban building and the region, and try to rethink the city form at cold and dry places. For exploring a new city form, this thesis suggests that buildings should be a mega urban skin, which is buildings are also urban space. This view tries to make buildings solve the problem above to revitalize the urbanity of a cold city and make buildings themselves more actively join the city. Urban skin is just like the animal skin, which may provide basic protection and environmental regulation. The other hand, urban skin as a city schema should supply the multiple choices of masses. As the concept of skin, we try to find some helpful ideas from such biomimics to make the new form. And for the masses reason, we also try to achieve a porus, compact, mixed-use, and variation kind of living space based on the idea of mega structure and the Open-Building theory. This thesis also suggests a kind of “Net-City” development, which is different from the traditional “Block-City”. Net-City supplies a linear, and trees-like ways of growth but not block, grid ways. This way of development may provide more open space and public node in the city, which make the city more flexible. Here are also some suggestion of possible new practice. At last, the north of Harbin is the site for an new city model, including a new planning method for the new city form.
