Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 交通管理學系碩博士班 === 97 === The objective of this study is to realize the effects of personality on job performance in container shipping companies. Five personality and two job performance dimensions are identified based on factor analysis. These five personality dimensions are “Neuroticism”, “Conscientiousness”, “Extraversion”, “Openness to experience” and “Agreeableness”, whereas two job performance dimensions are identified as “contextual performance” and “task performance”. The findings of this study are as followed: (1) Conscientiousness and Agreeableness have significant positive influence on both contextual performance and task performance; (2) Neuroticism has a significant negative influence on task performance.
