On-Call contracting is one contracting strategy with characteristics such as emphasizing planning, phased design and construction, performance evaluation, etc. This contracting method enables the project delivery more systematically and flexibly. For the design and construction of a high-tech plant, on-call contracting method can be a choice.
This research explores the applicability of on-call contracting on the semiconductor plant construction. A questionaive was designed to inquire the planning, bidding, and construction problems occurred to high-tech plant construction, and whether the five steps of an on-call process would result these problems. It surveyed 30 practioners with high-tech plant construction experiences. It was found that the on-call contracting steps can solve the actual problems to a certain extent.
