Cancer has been the number one disease that caused people’s death for 27 years. Bureau of Health required twenty-seven medical centers to carry out plans to improve the quality of cancer treatment in 2005. This paper is to computerize (paperless) cancer treatment plans for patients, i.e. to computerize the process for generating cancer treatment plans and the related procedures. Beside fulfilling the requirements of doctors, nurses and other medical staffs on the treatment plans, the records for real treatments could be used to further improving the quality of cancer treatment. We used Light-Weight CMMI (Light-Weight Capability Maturity Model Integration) which was proposed by NSC for open source projects. Light-Weigh CMMI includes light weight software engineering and system engineering approach and CMMI is practical for entrance level of software engineering. This is the first try of light weight CMMI in the development of medical software in a medical center. We added pre-test and post-test questionnaire for the users. In this way, we hope to be able to learn the differences, conveniences, practicalities and to make further improvements.
