In terms of economy, the rapid capital flow among countries and the emergence of transnational corporations accelerated the internal linkage of the world economical entity. The investment wave of Taiwanese businesses hitting Mainland China was affected by the aforementioned economic globalization. The influential factors include the changes in internal investment environment after the democratic and economic development and the fact that China took foreign capital and foreign investment as an important policy for economic development after the reform and opening up in 1979. With the synergistic effect of both factors, a force that drove Taiwanese businesses to invest externally was thus generated internally in Taiwan while changes in the investment environment of China shed the gigantic attraction on Taiwan businesses. The investment wave of Taiwan businesses starting in 1980’s was ignited and further created the economic trend with the incessant increase in the expert/ import trade and the elevating trade interdependence. In the battlefield of the global economic competition, the continuous increase in transnational businesses and the expansion of the investment capacity strengthen their influence and produce significant effects on the interactive model among nations and the relations between the national and business and the competition between corporations. This study starts from Triple Diplomacy, proposed by Susan Strange, and discusses the relations between government, between governments and businesses, and between businesses that are generated from the investment of Taiwanese businesses in China, just as from the investment of transnational corporations. For interaction between governments, the non-zero sum interaction resulted from trading between governments offers the possibilities of cooperation and negotiation that both parties seek apart from the argument on sovereign rights. For the interaction between the government and businesses, the increase in the economic power of Taiwan businesses elevated their influence on policies of Taiwan Government and China Government. However, the essential differences in the political systems between both parties produce different interactive models between the government and businesses. For interaction between corporations, because local Chinese businesses were incapable of mid-level products during early investment of Taiwan businesses, and market attributes differ between two parties, horizontal and vertical divisions were thus developed for local Taiwan businesses. In addition, the advantages of Taiwan businesses on production and management could act as an example and a driver for local Chinese businesses. However, as local Chinese businesses advance their production skills and management capabilities, the aforementioned interactive models are facing momentous changes. 袁鶴齡 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 109 zh-TW
